Opening Remarks

“I warmly welcome you all to the 10th Makrand reading event. It is a joy to see students, scholars, teachers and friends gathered once again to share in this tradition of collective reading and reflection. Makrand was envisioned not simply as a newsletter, but as a space of nectar — a place of poetry, philosophy and creative thought, which is gathered, tasted and shared through the words written in it. Each issue is part of a larger journey: to cultivate dialogue, to nurture imagination, and to sustain inquiry across cultures and disciplines. This vision is inseparable from the mission of Naad Pargaas, which strives to foster a Shabd-inspired culture, engaging deeply with the conceptualization of Nam-Shabad philosophy while encouraging reflection on world traditions and contemporary thought.”
